Description
Constructed in 1870, the Burkholder Covered Bridge is a Burr Arch Truss bridge that stretches 52 feet over the Buffalo Creek in Brothers Valley Township. This bridge is unique because it has low sidewalls that expose a large part of the structure.
The bridge added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 is one of the ten covered bridges remaining in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
