Description
Built high atop a hill in Sioux Falls is the Cathedral of St. Joseph. This cathedral serves as the centerpiece of the Catholic faith in eastern South Dakota.
The architecture of St. Joseph Cathedral is a blend of classic Romanesque and French Renaissance. It is built in a cruciform with the transepts and nave forming a mighty cross from an aerial perspective.
The ground breaking on the Cathedral took place in 1915. It was designed by the architect Emmanuel Masqueray.
