Description
The desert rose is a tropical succulent plant originally from Africa. They have fleshy stems that grow into fat, bulbous structures called caudexes at the plant's base. Desert rose can grow to be 4 to 5 feet tall with numerous large, trumpet-shaped flowers that come in shades of white, pink or rose. The white sap of Desert Rose is toxic and can disrupt the function of the heart. It is used as arrow poison throughout Africa for hunting large game.
