Description
The first part of class was how to perch properly like an adult eagle and how to stay alert and scan for danger. This little exercise was going on before we arrived and continued for at least an hour. I never thought I’d be bored watching eagles but this was a little like watching paint dry.
The second part of class was a lesson in gliding and diving. It was a breezy day and the eaglet stood facing into the wind. He didn’t flap his wings; instead he slowly stretched them out and left them there making subtle adjustments as the wind changed. He then squatted and tucked his wings as if going into a fast dive. He repeated the sequence several times.
As his confidence grew, he moved closer to the edge leaning out into the wind. He was magnificent and I am in awe of how gorgeous this eaglet is becoming.
