Description
Staunton’s most recognizable building is the Clock Tower, built at the city center, the building and tower dates to 1890, and originally housed the YMCA.
Staunton, Virginia, has one of Virginia’s finest collections of Victorian-era architecture. Beverley Street, Staunton’s downtown “Main Street,” is listed on the National Register as a Historic District with 131 buildings, most of them dating from the city’s “boom” years between 1870 and 1920.
