Description
If I had known that eagles grew on trees, I would have planted an eagle tree years ago!
This is just a small glimpse of the convocation of Bald Eagles on Lake McConaughy this past weekend. I counted 16 eagles in my image but I believe the official count for this particular morning was 64.
Lake McConaughy is located near Ogallala, Nebraska. This is considered the best place in the state of Nebraska to view the bald eagle. Eagles gather here in large numbers during the winter months because of the Kingsley Hydro-plant. The Hydro-plant creates open water all winter long allowing them to continue fishing throughout the icy winter months.
