Description
Woolly Mullein on the Blue Ridge Mountainside after a brief rain shower at the Two Mile Run Overlook in Shenandoah National Park.
I wasn’t familiar with this wildflower, which is a biennial only blooming every two years. Also known as Common Mullein and Great Mullein, this tall plant has woolly leaves and a sturdy stalk. It is topped with a tight cluster of showy yellow flowers. I would love to see it in full bloom!
