Artist's Description

Blue ridges as far as the eye can see!

Cowee Mountain Overlook at milepost 430.7 along the North Carolina section of the Blue Ridge Parkway as the storm clouds roll in. At an elevation of 5950 feet, this overlook offers breathtaking long-range views of the Blue Ridge Mountain ridges.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is designated as an All American Road, the highest designation in the National Scenic Byway system. It is 469 miles long. The Parkway begins at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, winds its way through North Carolina terminating at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. Along the way, it provides spectacular mountain and valley vistas, quiet pastoral scenes, sparkling waterfalls, and colorful flower and foliage displays.
