Artist's Description

The Old Bank Building in Poolesville, Maryland, constructed in 1910, is referred to architecturally as “vaguely classical.” One of the few historical buildings left in Poolesville, the historic area was destroyed by fire in 1923.

A run on the bank during The Great Depression forced it to close, but it opened again within a year. The building was given to the town in 1965 and it served as the Town Hall for many years. Today, it is the Poolesville Museum.
