My two favorite buildings in Alliance, Nebraska, are the Alliance Theater and Newberry's Hardware Store. They are part of the town's Historic Commercial District.
The Art Deco-styled Alliance Theater was built in 1937. It is three stories tall. While the entrances are modernized, the movie poster, box office area, facade, and marquee are all original and covered in the original colored glazed tile.
Newberry's Hardware Company was established in 1888; the same year Alliance became a town. Newberry's built this three-story Neoclassical Revival building in 1914. Hardware was sold on the first floor, the offices were located on the second, and the harness and saddle shop was on the third floor.

I'm a travel photographer that enjoys photographing United States architecture, nature, and transportation. As the 8th photographer in 4 generations of my family, I don't remember a time when photography was not part of my life. By the time I was five years old, I was standing on a stool in the darkroom, helping my dad develop pictures. It was my job to transfer the photos from the hypo to the water bath.
