Description
Historic Christ Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with its elegant but simple all-white interior, is considered one of the finest examples of 18th-century Georgian architecture in the United States.
When the church was constructed in 1744, the Palladian Chancel window positioned at the front was the largest Palladian window in all of England's North American colonies. The beautiful Wineglass Pulpit, installed in 1769, was crafted by John Folwell, recognized for creating the Rising Sun Chair at Independence Hall that George Washington famously used during the Constitutional Convention.
